Dr. Vivek Akkera is a Consultant General Paediatrician and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with over sixteen years of experience of working as a trainee and as a consultant in various aspects and subspecialties of Paediatric care.
Dr. Akkera has special interests in:
- Various aspects of neonatology including neonatal discharge follow up.
- Evolving development and pathophysiology of infants and young children.
- Screening, early identification and management of developmental, behavioural, and Medical issues from newborn to 16 years of age.
He has undertaken training in India, United Kingdom, and Australia. For nearly a decade now, he has worked both in Neonatology and General Pediatrics at both Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and Children’s Hospital Westmead Network Hospitals.
Dr. Akkera applies current evidence-based medicine to achieve the best possible outcome for growing young paediatric population. He has over the years learnt the tools required to achieve holistic care in treating young ones along with their families and carers. He has completed research in autism and has completed ADOS-2 training (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule).
Dr. Akkera loves his family time, friends, travel, and cricket.
