Dr Melanie Fentoullis is a Consultant General Paediatrician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She graduated with first class honours from the University of New South Wales and completed her paediatric training with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, working at Sydney Children’s Hospital as their Fellow in General Paediatrics in the final years of her training.
With an interest in, and passion for, the education of future generations of doctors, Melanie completed a Master of Medical Education through the University of Sydney and is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Melanie has also enjoyed representing the educational interests of her colleagues as a member of the Paediatrics & Child Health Division Education Committee and Curriculum Advisory Group within the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Melanie believes in having both an evidence-based and a patient and family-centred approach when planning the care for her patients. Respecting the knowledge and experience of parents and carers, who know their child best, she prioritises working together with parents, carers, and all health professionals, in advocating for and achieving the best possible care for her patients.
She is currently working in private practice and as a Paediatrician at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in addition to her work as a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She is available to see children and young people of all ages. Her particular interests include newborn and infant health (including navigating the challenges of feeding, sleep and settling), supporting healthy growth and nutrition (including children above a healthy weight) and allergy.
Melanie also enjoys the joys and challenges of being a mother to her happy and active son.
